Welcome to Nutshell Care Foundation

Nutshell Care Foundation (NCF) is Non Governmental Organization that seeks to promote the general wellbeing and the development of the human being, using appropriate structures and means.

Located in Ghana, we seek to practically and effectively initiate, implement and enhance programmes and activities that would in the long run go to benefit the communities that we choose to work with and in.

2007
OUR VISION
OUR MISSION
CORE VALUES

That every Community in Ghana would reach a level of development that is most dignifying to the total and holistic progress of mankind.

To consciously target key yet pressing challenges facing various communities in Ghana, and develop practical, efficient and relevant solutions to these challenges.

This we do through the development of relevant and appropriate sustainable projects, advocacy, education, trainings, and infrastructural development ,to in the long term, protect and restore the quality of human life and development.

  • Gender sensitivity
Evaluate both the positive and negative impact of programs women, men, girls and boys.
  • Respect
The communities we work in are equal partners in development and not simply object of pity
  • Clarity:  we ensure that our activities can be explained with ease this usually means that we would be able to describe and involve every person in the project.
  • Understand the Need:  to succeed we seek for that one thing that is of burning importance to our target communities. Then develop projects that would inevitably solve the target areas needs rather than want.. We seek to zero in on the one area that causes our communities the most anguish or lack of development and attack that situation.

Differentiation:  we dare to be different.  We believe in charting new courses to solve prevailing and challenging tasks.

Frugality: Focus spending on what's critical. We appreciate speed, stealth and time in implementing our projects. We actually look out for opportunities not to spend money.

  • Leadership involvement: People and communities, in general, trust their leaders , we therefore seek for leaders who are active and care for the community and involve them in all stages of the project development and implementation,
  • Engagement:   we believe in team building.
  • Keep Records: Right from the beginning, maintain a clear comprehensive log and record of all the things we do.
  •  Build trust: we seek to build trust with the community that you are working, both within the NGO, and outside.
  • Maintain proactive transparency and accountability in all your activities and transactions, and keep open lines of communication

our PROGRAMMES

NCF seeks amongst its objectives to create and imitate programmes and projects that are sustainable and relevant to the communities in which we work.

We believe that every single project undertaken should in the long run be self sufficient, in that, it becomes self funding and duplicable elsewhere. In this vein we seek as much as possible to involve the communities we work with and encourage active participation we also seek to crate in them an awareness of Business and Organizational exposure. We seek also to create in them a “give back” spirit, where everyone that benefits from our projects in turn must contribute to the growth and sustainability of the project.  We have therefore package or segmented our programmes into the following:

  •  R-educate
  •  I-Develop
  •  U-Sponsor
R-Education
I-Develop
U-Sponsor

This programme looks at RELEVANT education of the various communities we target. Giving them education that is practical to their community and relevant to their peculiar situation. Our R-education takes a look at the prevailing situation, analyses the present educational system available and seeks to initiate and develop a system that would tackle the core problem observed and most effectively transmit the knowledge gain to the community in the most practical means. These include, seminars, setting up of reading clubs, trainings, workshop and adult education.

I-Develop is our unique term coined to tackle infrastructural development in the various target communities.  It is based on the belief that human progress and quality of life  goes hand in hand with infrastructural development. It is therefore an objective of NCF to actively pursue infrastructural developments in the communities we work in. these developments include Building of latrines, School Blocks, Training Centers, and Community places of recreation.

U- sponsor looks at sponsoring individuals in various communities over a period of time to undergo Formal educational training. This is to aid bright but needy Individuals, talented and creative individuals, handicapped  and etc. special focus would be given to covering the total educational needs of the individual over a given period of time, with the objective of ensuring that he or she succeeds to the point where he would also take up another person and sponsor. This would mean that there is a chain reaction in place. U- sponsor does not only look at the financial need of individuals but tackles other academic needs such as hostel facilities educational materials etc. periodically U-sponsor would make donations of relevant educational materials to schools and training institutes in targeted communities.

Another key feature of U-sponsor is various donations that we would undertake for orphanages and care homes. In addition to this with the objective of ensuring sustainability, we would package these donations in forms of projects that would ensure a continued means of funding and income generation to the care or foster home. E.g. donating a small farmland for the foster home to undertake farming.

All our projects would follow the following profile in summary:

 Project profile:

(a) Title of the project.
(b) Aims and objectives along with estimation of targeted beneficiaries, expected qualitative improvement, etc.
(c) Strategy/action plan, details of training required, availability of volunteers and their skills, etc.
(d) Financial requirement, sources of funding and financial assistance required.
(e) Duration of the project and sustainability after support is completed
(f) Monitoring and evaluation indicators
